Though Eagle Rock is no stranger to the silver screen, this recent Sundance favorite caught me by surprise.
Spike Jonze, who’s best known these days for Where the Wild Things Are (though I could never forget his Weezer/Happy Days video), just released a robot love story called “I’m Here.” It’s a surreal, yet remarkably poignant, tale of robots living among people in Los Angeles, and largely shot around our neck of the woods.
What’s not surprising? Eagle Rock is full of hipster-robots (zing!).
When you have 30 minutes, check it out at imheremovie.com, though you’re supposed to be over 21 (it’s sponsored by Absolut) and you might have to wait for the next “screening.”
