So they don’t actually serve molé at this truck parked outside of El Super, but they do promise the “Taco Naco” (which roughly translates as Tacky Taco). The truck has decent food, but this isn’t a food review. I’m just having some fun with photoshop and a camera. Enjoy.
The third annual Park[ing] Day L.A. will attempt to bring a bit of the pastoral to the urban this evening by setting up miniature green spaces in parking spots throughout the county. Northeast L.A. will have three spots: The Flying Pigeon on Figueroa, The Kristi Engle Gallery on York, and one sponsored by Occidental’s Urban and Environmental Policy Institute near Colorado and Eagle Rock Blvd. Though this international event is technically illegal, I can only begin to imagine the fallout if Parking Enforcement were to actually enforce the letter of the law. See you there!
Fish that tight D.A.R.E. shirt out of your closet and wash your skinny jeans because the 11th Annual Eagle Rock Music Festival is set to remind some of us how close we’re getting to being officially middle-aged on October 3rd. I’ll admit, I’m not nearly cool enough to know any of these bands beyond Ollin (read a previous story on the band here), but there seems to be some buzz surrounding The French Semester and The Happy Hollows. See the entire lineup at the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock website. Best of all, the concert is free!
